Sunnyvale, Texas-based orthopedic surgeon opens surgery center focused on sports medicine and recovery from joint injury or degeneration.

Sunnyvale, Texas – Feb 24, 2022 – With the start of the new year, Texas-board certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist Dr. John M. Hibbitts celebrates the first year of the opening of his full-service orthopedic clinic focused on sports medicine, joint preservation, and total joint arthroplasty. The Center serves patients in Sunnyvale, the greater eastern Dallas metro area, and throughout Dallas County. The Sunnyvale Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery Center opened its doors in 2021, offering specialized nonsurgical and surgical diagnoses and treatments for patients seeking relief from shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle pain. To accompany the grand opening, the Center has also launched a full-service website and secure patient portal, where patients can request consultations, schedule appointments, and manage their medical documents.

Since 1994, Dr. John Hibbitts has practiced medicine in South Carolina and Texas, treating thousands of patients in need of partial or full joint replacement, rotator cuff repair, cartilage grafting, ligament repair surgery, and more, with incredible results. His new private practice will allow him to exercise his belief that all people should be treated with compassion, through quality, individualized treatment plans and personalized attention. Dr. Hibbitts prefers a holistic, patient-first approach, which may include physical therapy and nonsurgical rehabilitation techniques in place of or in addition to surgery.

What is Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine?: An orthopedic surgeon is a medical doctor specializing in the care of musculoskeletal ailments, particularly those in the body’s major joints. A sports medicine specialist focuses on injuries and chronic damage caused from stress of repetitive movement, especially those experienced by athletes and sports participants.

From Dr. John Hibbitts: Regarding the momentous launch of his private practice center, founder Dr. John M. Hibbits, MD, said: “This event marks a dream come true for me. For more than twenty years, I have worked toward building a private practice center that focuses on specialized sports medicine injury, recovery, treatment, and restoration of people’s lives. I am honored and excited to bring these services to Sunnyvale and the greater Dallas area in our state-of-the-art facility.”

The Sunnyvale Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery Center Services: The Sunnyvale Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery Center is comprised of a team of trained, credentialed medical professionals who dedicate themselves to helping every patient achieve an active, pain-free life. The Center is open five days per week and compliant with all local, state, and federal best practices for patient safety during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Although surgery is not required in the treatment of all degenerative or injury-related joint pain, some patients experience the greatest pain relief and recovery of mobility after surgery. Surgeries are often performed arthroscopically with the use of micro-cameras and specialized surgical tools. Many procedures are minimally invasive outpatient procedures and do not require a hospital stay.

Dr. Hibbitts and his team offer full and partial joint replacements for the hip and knee, where they replace the damaged joint tissue with a prosthetic. The Center also performs repair surgeries for common ailments such as rotator cuff tears, knee instability, meniscal tears, bone fractures, and ligament tears.

As one of the few orthopedic surgeons in the Dallas area who provides cutting-edge InSpace balloon surgery for rotator cuff damage, Dr. Hibbitts aims to be the go-to expert in Central Texas for this type of minimally invasive treatment for rotator cuff arthritis. He also offers options for arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, mini-open rotator cuff surgery, and fully open rotator cuff surgery. The doctor has extensive training in cartilage transplant, which is frequently used to repair cartilage deteriorated due to damage from degenerative disease, such as arthritis.
