“Trigonometry for Beginners by Josip Tudorić is a primer about the basics of geometry, trigonometry, and trigonometry functions. The book begins with simple concepts such as points, lines, curves, circles, angles, and triangles. Tudorić then gradually progresses to more difficult topics such as sines, cosines, and tangents. He also addresses ideas such as linking right triangles and Pythagoras’s theorem. Each concept is defined, described, and then illustrated with drawings by the author himself. A typical description would be like the one Tudorić uses to define a circle: “It’s a set of points with the same distance from one central point.” There are also numerous tables that illustrate the concepts being taught. The author’s goal is to help his readers understand trigonometry and its related disciplines.
“I enjoyed reading Trigonometry for Beginners by Josip Tudorić. The beauty of this book lies in its simple explanations and many illustrations. Although trigonometry is a discipline that many people think they cannot understand, Tudorić intentionally keeps his explanations simple so that just about anyone can get it. The author helped me to further understand concepts that I had known about, but never had thoroughly thought about, such as the description of what constitutes a circle. The illustrations by Tudorić are extremely helpful. This book would have many uses, including being used for a high school or college textbook. Otherwise, it’s an interesting read for anyone interested in math and specifically trigonometry. I recommend Trigonometry for Beginners to anyone, whether they consider themselves to be math-oriented or not.”
