Triple amputee, Monica Sucha Vickers, explores issues of disability in powerful biography

FLORENCE, Ariz. – July 15, 2020 – Unfavorable circumstances and physical limitations didn’t stop inspirational author Monica Sucha Vickers to tell her story and move people to overcome their disabilities and change their lives forever.

“My Extraordinary Life” is an inspirational, heart-warming and motivational anthology revealing the most challenging journey of Monica. The author was born missing both legs and one arm, likely the result of thalidomide.

Monica writes an inspiring book everyone should read. Her story is motivational and very emotional from birth through adulthood — artificial limbs, surgeries, high school, college, employment, dating, marriage, and everything in between.  The book is highly recommended for all age groups, people with disabilities and those without.  The book was the winner in two book contests, the finalist in five others, and runner-up in another four.

Monica says, “It shows readers how living with a disability is simply a lifestyle — it doesn’t make one courageous, brave, or heroic. Disabled people are very good at knowing what they can and cannot do.  Knowing these limitations helps one make life meaningful and useful.”

Readers will learn how to embrace life’s trials and pains because, quite simply, there is no alternative. This book evokes the true meaning of hope and endurance. It also expresses positivity and acceptance.  Monica gives wonderful advice on how to advocate for yourself while dealing with a disabled body and accomplishing self-love.

The authenticity of Monica’s writing in “My Extraordinary Life” is obvious.  The book is hailed by Kirkus Reviews as, “A touching look at the effect that stereotypical attitudes have on the disabled.”
